Obuasi is a charming mining town that dates back to colonial times. It’s easy to get to — only 58 kilometers southwest of Kumasi — but it feels a world away. Set in a basin in Adansi, with the Ashanti Goldfields Company now AngloGold Ashanti mine at the heart of town, Obuasi is a beautiful place to learn and grow. While quiet, safe, and comfortable, Obuasi is filled with amazing shops, restaurants and bookstores, boutiques, hotels, and cafés. Our students love that they can get an ice cream, a haircut, or pizza right in town. Students enjoy miles of hiking trails at their backdoor. The Obuasi airport and the operation of commercial flights make Obuasi only a 30 minute flight from Accra, the capital city of Ghana.
