We are an accredited Cambridge Assessment International Examination School, which seeks to prepare learners for examinations including Cambridge Primary Checkpoint, Check point for Cambridge Secondary 1, IGCSE, AS and A Level. WBS combines a highly personalised approach to children’s social, intellectual, moral and physical development with excellent sporting and technological facilities, world-class equipment, small class sizes and a wide range of co-curricula activities.

BABY CLASS, CRÈCHE

The School offers admission for children from 6 months old. Children are introduced to sounds through music, games and art. We provide a very serene environment for your child’s growth and development.

NURSERY 

Our Early Years Foundation Programme focuses on these three prime areas: Communication and Development, Physical Development and Personal, Social and Emotional Development. To ensure an ongoing collaboration between the Nursery and Reception Classes and Key Stage One (Year One and Two), much emphasis is placed on developing skills in subject areas such as Literacy , Numeracy, Fine Art/ Creative Art and Understanding the World.

RECEPTION CLASS

At WBS, Reception Class ranges from age 4 to 5. We have a holistic educational pattern, where academic education is merged with the fun of Creative Arts. Much emphasis is placed on this modern curriculum, where the children are encouraged to develop a wide range of skills, knowledge and understanding required for Key Stage One. All children are treated as individuals; their strengths as well as areas of challenges are assessed for further development within their School activities.

Students in WBS are well prepared to tackle the demands of tomorrow’s world, capable of shaping a better world for the future through the solid Foundations provided in the Early Years and sustained at subsequent levels throughout the School. We therefore believe that WBS Students are on track to perform very well in their IGCSE, as well as ‘AS’ and A Levels.

PRIMARY SCHOOL

This department in WB School provides  safe and child-friendly environs for children at the ages of  5–11 ( Year 1- 6 ), that is Key Stages 1 and 2.The Primary School has a well-developed system that empowers our Students to have an all-encompassing view of the world, confidence in ability, good character and enounce their views clearly. The department also sees to it that Students are equipped with the essential skills needed to embark on their secondary education.

The Primary School focuses on subject areas such as: English as First or Second Language, Science, Mathematics, History, Geography, Music, French, Physical Education, Citizenship, Global Perspectives, ICT, Religious Education and Art.

Students in Year 6 are registered for Cambridge Primary Checkpoint test series each year, in April/May. The tests cover all major areas of learning in the Cambridge Primary curriculum frameworks for English, English as a Second Language, Mathematics and Science. The papers are marked in the UK and this provides an opportunity for the School to benchmark its achievements against other Cambridge Schools around the world.  All Students receive diagnostic feedback on their individual performance and this prepares them for their lower secondary education.

LOWER SECONDARY SCHOOL

Lower Secondary is typically for learners aged 11 to 14 years. At the secondary section Students begin studying familiar subjects such as English as a First or Second Language, Mathematics, Science, Cambridge Global Perspectives and ICT Starters in more detail.  Lower secondary comprises years 7-9 at key stage 3.

At year 9 Students are registered for Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint test series each year, in April/May. The tests cover all major areas of learning in the Cambridge Lower Secondary curriculum frameworks for English, English as a Second Language, Mathematics and Science and give valuable feedback on learners’ strengths and weaknesses before they progress to the next stage of the educational ladder. All Students are issued with a Lower Secondary Certificate of Cambridge Assessment International Education

In addition to the core subject of the curriculum, WB also concentrates on some important subjects such History, Geography, Music, French, Citizenship Education, Global Perspective, Physical Education, ICT, Religious Education and Art.

UPPER SECONDARY SCHOOL

Cambridge Upper Secondary in WBS is typically for learners aged 14 to 16 years. Our Year 11 Students are registered for the IGCSE Examinations conducted by CAIE, University of Cambridge, UK.

The IGCSE course requires Students to take between eight to ten subjects. English (First /Second Language), English Literature, Foreign Language French, Mathematics, ICT and at least one Science subject are compulsory for all IGCSE Students in WB. Students may select between eight to ten subjects depending on their ability, interest, and career aspirations. The required learning hours per Cambridge IGCSE subject is 170 hours. This means that learners are expected to spend four hours per week on each subject.

Assessments take place at the end of the two-year course which includes written and oral tests, coursework, and practical assessments. Each learner’s performance is benchmarked using internationally recognised Grades, A* to G. Cambridge IGCSE caters for different levels of ability with a choice between core and extended papers in many subjects.

CAMBRIDGE ADVANCED

Cambridge Advanced is typically for learners aged 16 to 19 years who need advanced study to prepare for University and Higher Education. It offers learners two routes: Cambridge International AS & A Level, and Cambridge Pre-U.

Students who successfully complete the Cambridge IGCSE continue with the Cambridge AS and A-Level programme for another two years. Over the course of the two-year Cambridge International AS and A-Level, Students study three or four subjects chosen from the five subject groups of the Cambridge AS and A-Level curriculum. Cambridge Advanced builds on the foundations of Cambridge Upper Secondary.

The syllabuses develop a deep understanding of subjects and independent thinking skills.
